DSM fighting camera takedown

Des Moines is appealing the state’s order to take down its speed camera on I-235. The tickets generated from the camera use have pulled in more than a million dollars per year for the city. The appeal basically says IDOT doesn’t have the legal right to make the order, which is supposed to go into effect today.
