Three New Holiday-Season Engagements

It’s never too early to get in the holiday spirit and Des Moines Performing Arts (DMPA) announced three new engagements headed to the Civic Center stage this December sure to get you in a festive mood. Alton Brown Live: Beyond the Eats the Holiday Variant, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical and Mannheim Steamroller – 2022 Christmas Tour will take to the Civic Center stage this December.  Tickets go on sale to the public Wednesday, July 13 at DMPA.org, by phone at (515) 246-2300 or in person at the Civic Center Ticket Office.

Alton Brown Live: Beyond the Eats the Holiday Variant

Television personality, author, Food Network and Netflix star Alton Brown will be heading out on his Alton Brown Live: Beyond The Eats – The Holiday Variant tour this holiday season.  He is the host of Top 10 new Netflix Iron Chef reboot “Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend.”  Brown says fans can expect “more cooking, more comedy, more music, and more potentially dangerous science stuff with a sprinkle of seasonal spices. Plus, you’ll see things I’ve never been allowed to do on TV.” Critics and fans have raved about the interactive components of Brown’s shows. He warns, “Prepare for an evening unlike any other and if I call for volunteers…think twice.”

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical

The beloved TV classic soars off-screen and returns to the Civic Center stage with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical. Audience will enjoy their favorite characters from the television special including Santa and Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius and, of course, Rudolph, as they come to life in this gleeful adventure that teaches us that what makes you different can be what makes you special. Audiences young and old will not want to miss this wonderful holiday tradition that speaks to the misfit in all of us.

Mannheim Steamroller – 2022 Christmas Tour

Founded and created by Chip Davis, Mannheim Steamroller is celebrating over 35 years of its annual Christmas concert tour, making it the longest running concert tour. Mannheim Steamroller has sold more than 41 million albums, with over 31.5 million in the Christmas genre. Their holiday CD’s have become synonymous with Christmas and occupy top positions on Billboard’s Seasonal Chart every year. This year’s show will feature classic Christmas hits from the Mannheim Steamroller holiday albums along with multimedia effects in an intimate setting.  Davis will direct and co-produce Tour performances with MagicSpace Entertainment.
