The majority leader for the Iowa House has promised a conference committee will be called this week to try to reach an agreement on the supplemental education budget. State Senator Herman Quirmbach says the just-over-one percent increase offered by the House is not enough to keep schools afloat. The House Majority Leader countered that the increase was all the state could afford.
